Well then you are in luck my young squires as The National Young Writers Festival is putting a call out to younger writers aged between 16 and 20 to be apart of our Younger Writers Mentorship Program. Once accepted NYWF with find you a super hot mentor for duration of the festival, (1st-5th October) who will then meet, talk and nut out what it is that you love about writing and where you want to go with your potential writing career. There will also be specific programs in the festival designed for you to go along to and maybe pick up a few hot skills on the way. Your mentor will also help you tailor a NYWF experience that will best suit you. So if you keen to get involved and be exposed to one of the biggest emerging writers festivals in the country then simply email us your details ( name, age, address etc) including up to a 1-page summary about who you are/what you do and why you want you be involved. If you have any previous work you have done then shoot that on through as well…the better we get to know you the better we can find the right mentor for you! So what are you waiting for? Email youngerwriters.nywf@gmail .com right now to get amongst it all! |

Pool at This Is Not Art / National Young Writers' Festival POOL is a new online initiative of the ABC and this year is a feature of the festival. It’s a free online space for artists to showcase their work and network with others. If you're coming to the festival, it's an excellent place to post your work. POOL allows you to upload, download, share, remix, find, network, contact, browse, search or merely amble through the wide array of creative works that the festival artists are contributing to the site. Works are licensed with Creative Commons, and when adding content, you can tag it with festival-specific tags (e.g.: electrofringe), helping others to find the things they’re looking for. Together with the rest of the This Is Not Art festivals, we have partnered with POOL to develop the online community and host the artwork of festival participants both during and in the run up to the festival. Head directly to the This is Not Art category now: www.pool.org.au/content/this_is_not_art, or at the festival itself, head to the Festival Club where the POOL man can give you an in-person tour. Join up, add to the buzz, and be a part of the festival before we even arrive in Newcastle. |
